President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, has expressed her sincere gratitude to Tanzanians and people around the world for the messages of condolence, prayers, love and support following the death of her beloved husband, Mr Hafidh Ameir Hassan.
Mr Hafidh passed away in Zanzibar on September 7, 2026.
In a message of appreciation, President Samia said she and her family have been deeply touched by the kindness and compassion shown to them during this difficult period.
She extended her appreciation to Heads of State and Government, national leaders, members of the diplomatic community, religious leaders and all Tanzanians for standing with her family and providing strength and comfort as they conclude three days of mourning.
